Which XENA disc-lock alarm will fit my bike?
XENA disc-lock alarms are designed for the vast majority of standard motorcycle brake-discs. While exceptions do exist (ie, some bike models are shipped with more than one type of brake disc), a careful check of the following three relevant dimensions can help determine which XENA suits your bike best. For full specs and instructions, please see the Products section.
1. Brake-disc gap: Standard on all models at 7mm. 2. Locking-pin size: from 7mm (XR1/XZ1) to 18mm (XN18) according to model. 3. Distance from locking-pin to inside back of lock*: from 42mm (XR1/XZ1) to 65mm (XN18) according to model. *Note that the locking pin can pass through ANY hole on the brake disc

Adjusting Alarm Sensitivity
How do I adjust the sensitivity of my alarm?
You can adjust the sensitivity of your XENA disc-lock alarm by positioning it at different points on your brake disc. Lock your XENA on the “outer” brake disc for maximum sensitivity, “inner” for lower sensitivity. See the instructions that come with your unit for a detailed diagram.

False Alarm?
What do I do if my XENA triggers a “false alarm”?
Your XENA disc-lock alarm uses infrared rays to make constant assessments of the presence of your disc brake. But it needs to "see" what it's doing to work properly. A blocked reflector plate is the most common cause of false alarms. Be sure to check that the circular reflector plate is free from dirt or grease. Simply clean the reflector with a dry cloth.
A second cause of false alarm is low battery power. Typical battery life with normal use is eight months. Replace the batteries with a XENA XBP replacement pack and continue to enjoy the security of your XENA unit.

Why XENA?
Why is a XENA disc-lock alarm better than a standard lock?
1. XENA reminds YOU that it's there!
- No more reminder tags on your brake or ignition to worry about
- No more embarrassing ride-aways with your lock still clamped on the brake disc
- No more expensive repairs due to bent disc and damaged forks
2. XENA prevents theft!
Thieves will go after the easiest target they can find and that’s definitely not a XENA. XENA locks are tested to rigorous strength standards – Try being discreet using an angle grinder for 10 minutes while a 110db siren is blaring in your ears!
XENA withstands:
- Angle Grinding
- Freeze Spray Attacks
- Lock Picking
- Cutting with Tungsten Carbon Blades
- Wedge & Leverage Attacks

Three Keys, One Lock
Why does the lock come with three keys, one red and two black?
As an additional built-in security feature, each XENA disc-lock alarm comes with three unique keys that CANNOT be copied. Start by using a black one; if you lose it, use another. The red one is to remind you that it is the last key for your lock -- don't lose it!

One Smart Lock
How does it work?
While the XENA range offers a choice of security levels based on the manufacturing process employed in crafting the body of each lock model, all XENA disc-lock alarms share the same alarm-sensor technology.
Inside each XENA's patented electronic modules are infrared transmitters and receivers, all linked to a microprocessor that allows your XENA unit to detect the presence or absence of a brake disc and arm or disarm accordingly.
Moving the wheel or tampering with the unit while it is locked to your bike will trip one or both of the shock and movement sensors, setting off the alarm and warning you and any potential thieves.

Arming the Alarm
How do I get my XENA disc-lock to arm itself?
Just pass the lock through the brake disc and lock into place. Your XENA disc-lock alarm has LED sensors that automatically detect the presence of a disc. There's no on-off switch to worry about. Once locked in place, your XENA unit will beep once to confirm that it is fully activated – That’s it!

Battery Life
How long will the batteries last?
With typical use, batteries should last eight months (or, with proper storage, a couple of riding seasons). Your new XENA disc-lock alarm is supplied with two original battery packs. Replacements are available at all authorised XENA Dealers

Built Tough to Keep Working in Heavy Weather
Is it Water-Resistant?
Your XENA disc-lock alarm should withstand all normal weather conditions, including heavy rains. Each electronic module is sealed twice with a water-resistant coating, and an additional rubber gasket placed in the unit during assembly prevents water from entering the electronic housing.
That said, DO NOT immerse your XENA unit in water, and wherever possible, take pains to avoid overexposure. If the unit gets soaked, disassemble and allow it to dry thoroughly before operating again. Wherever possible, avoid saltwater.
To replace damaged modules, contact your local XENA dealer for a XENA service kit.
